Welcome to the Capital Jiu Jitsu Capital Competitors Rating System.

What is this?

This site has multiple purposes for members of Capital Jiu Jitsu:

  • All competitors (MMA, BJJ, Submission Grappling) can track the events they have participated in, and build an online competition resum.
  • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling competitors can vie for 'status' by accruing points, and compete with other competitors for the highest point ranking.

How does it work?

Members of Capital Jiu Jitsu can register and create accounts. Once their account is approved, they can 'create' competitions where they list tournaments or events they competed in, and details such as their rank, weight, place, etc. When the competition is entered into the database, it automatically computes, awards and totals all points for the competitor.

How do the points work?

Points are awarded on three criteria: place, rank & number of matches. A base number of points is awarded for first, second, third or fourth place. These points are further modified by the rank of the student. That number is then multiplied by the number of matches fought to earn that place.

This is the formula: (Place Points + Rank Points) x # of Matches = Total Points

PlaceBase Points
First:100
Second:75
Third:50
Fourth:25
Belt RankNo-Gi RankModifier Points
White:Novice (< 9 months)0
Blue:Beginner (9-18 months)25
Purple:Intermediate (18-36 months)50
Brown:Advanced (> 36 months)75
Black:n/a100

Example:
1) A blue belt earns first place in a division by winning four separate matches. First place = 100 points, blue belt = 25 points, so the formula would be (100 + 25) x 4 = 500 points.
